These plants and the businesses around them carry a heavy load of repetitive office work: production paperwork, supplier and PO reconciliation, lot and batch records, CFIA and food-safety documentation, bilingual order desks, and after-hours customer inquiries. Tourism adds its own pressure: the Zoo de Granby, Quebec's largest zoo at around 830 staff and close to 600,000 visitors a year, plus the regional hospitality and retail trade that surrounds it, field seasonal demand spikes in French.
