It is a global heavyweight in two resources that AI touches directly. Central Saskatchewan holds nearly two-thirds of the world's recoverable potash reserves, anchored by Nutrien, the world's largest potash producer and the province's largest private employer, with BHP's multi-billion-dollar Jansen mine advancing alongside it. In the north, Saskatchewan hosts the world's largest, highest-grade uranium deposits and supplies almost a quarter of the world's uranium for power generation, with Cameco operating McArthur River/Key Lake, the world's largest high-grade uranium mine and mill, and Cigar Lake. Agriculture rounds out the trio: record agri-food exports of $20.2 billion in 2023 made the province the world's leading exporter of dry peas, lentils, durum, canola oil, and more.
