Ohio is one of the largest US state economies, with real gross state product near $734 billion in 2025 and a per-capita output around $61,700. Intel is building its "Silicon Heartland" fab campus in Licking County near New Albany, a $28 billion investment with thousands of construction and manufacturing jobs, while Anduril selected a roughly five-million-square-foot Pickaway County facility to mass-produce military drones. The LG Energy Solution and Honda battery joint venture in Jeffersonville, a roughly $4.4 billion plant, and Amgen's $900 million life-sciences expansion add to an investment wave that puts advanced automation at the centre of how these operations run.

Every Ohio sector burns staff hours on routine work that AI now handles: production scheduling, quality intake, and supplier documents across manufacturing and automotive; patient access and GxP records in healthcare and life sciences; ITAR-aware document and field workflows across the Wright-Patterson aerospace cluster; KYC, claims intake, and reconciliation in finance and insurance; and grade tracking, recall outreach, and supplier traceability in agriculture and food processing. On the compliance side, Ohio was the first US state to enact a cybersecurity safe harbour: the Ohio Data Protection Act gives an affirmative defence to businesses whose programs conform to recognised frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
