Meridian is the third-largest city in Idaho and the fastest-growing in the state, sitting at the center of the Treasure Valley between Boise and Nampa. It is an affluent, residential city: median household income is about $100,795, the median age is roughly 37.5, and the city ranked 71st among the nation's fastest-growing cities in the U.S. Census Bureau's 2023 to 2024 estimates, one of five Idaho cities in the national top 100. Healthcare and insurance anchor the white-collar base. St. Luke's Meridian Medical Center is a 165-bed Magnet-designated hospital off Interstate 84, and Saint Alphonsus operates a Ten Mile surgery center and urgent care nearby. Blue Cross of Idaho, the state's oldest health insurer, is headquartered in Meridian with nearly 900 people at its corporate campus, and United Heritage Insurance runs its life and property-casualty operations from an eight-acre Meridian campus. Consumer goods, retail, education, and real estate round out the picture. Scentsy, the direct-selling fragrance company, was founded in Meridian in 2004 and runs its 73-acre Scentsy Commons campus here with more than 1,000 employees. The Village at Meridian draws Treasure Valley shoppers to more than 100 tenants, West Ada School District is the largest in Idaho at roughly 40,000 students headquartered in the city, and Brighton Corporation, Idaho's largest diversified real estate developer, builds the master-planned communities reshaping the west side. Each runs scheduling, intake, records, and customer-service workloads that scale faster than staffing.

The pace of growth strains every back office along the Interstate 84 and Eagle Road corridors.
