The Legacy West district and the surrounding Legacy business park host Toyota Motor North America (a roughly $1B, seven-building campus with more than 4,000 staff), the JPMorgan Chase campus (the firm's largest corporate site outside New York City, over 6,000 employees and expanding toward 7,500), Frito-Lay's global headquarters on Legacy Drive, Liberty Mutual's regional operations, FedEx Office, and Boeing Global Services. Tyler Technologies, an S&P 500 public-sector software company, runs its headquarters on Tennyson Parkway.

That HQ density creates an enormous back-office workload. Finance teams at JPMorgan Chase and Capital One reconcile transactions and run KYC under GLBA and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Consumer-products operations at Frito-Lay and PepsiCo process trade promotions, supplier paperwork, and brand-marketing requests at national scale. Insurance teams at Liberty Mutual handle claims intake and policyholder correspondence. Local analyses note Plano's roughly 45,000 direct corporate-management jobs have outgrown the immediate talent supply, which sharpens the payoff from automating routine work rather than hiring for it.

The local advantage is talent and proximity. Plano draws from a regional pool of about 1.9 million skilled workers within a 30-minute commute, fed by the University of Texas at Dallas in adjacent Richardson, the Richardson Telecom Corridor, and Collin College's Plano workforce programs. Technology runs deep too: Tyler Technologies, NTT DATA, Ericsson, and HPE corporate functions, plus a planned $700M Aligned data center for Lambda that places Plano in the AI-infrastructure build-out.

Plano firms deploying AI for financial-operations reconciliation, KYC and onboarding, consumer-products document workflows, insurance claims handling, and patient access are pulling ahead of peers still running everything by hand. Texas's no-state-income-tax climate and DFW talent base already brought the headquarters here. AI is how those operations now do more without adding headcount, while keeping a Texas-regulator-ready audit trail.
