Dublin is the EMEA headquarters capital of global technology. Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok all run their European or international headquarters from the city, with Microsoft at Leopardstown, plus major Amazon, Salesforce, and Accenture operations. 16 of the top 20 global tech firms have a strategic presence in Ireland, and more than 106,000 people work in the ICT sector, much of it clustered in the Silicon Docks around Grand Canal Dock.

International financial services run almost as deep. The IFSC sustains over 47,000 direct jobs across banking, funds, insurance, reinsurance, payments, and aviation leasing. Ireland is the third-largest funds domicile in the world, servicing more than €5 trillion in assets under administration, with Citibank Europe HQ'd in Dublin and State Street, BNY, and Northern Trust running large fund-administration operations. Dublin is also the global capital of aircraft leasing: AerCap, SMBC Aviation Capital, and Avolon, the world's three largest lessors, are all headquartered here.

Pharma and medtech are the other pillar. Ireland accounts for around 10% of the world's pharmaceutical exports, with Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, and Eli Lilly among the 19 of the top 20 global pharma firms operating here, plus 14 of the 15 biggest medical-technology companies. Every one of these sectors carries a heavy compliance load: GDPR and the Data Protection Commission, the EU AI Act, the Central Bank of Ireland for financial services, and the HPRA for medical devices.

Dublin firms deploying AI for fund-administration and KYC operations, regulated document processing, pharma and medtech quality workflows, and EMEA customer support are pulling ahead of peers still running everything by hand. As the only English-speaking capital in the euro area, with a deep ICT, finance, and life-sciences workforce and the ADAPT and Rinn AI research centres on its doorstep, Dublin is one of Europe's highest-leverage cities to deploy production AI.
